Colt M4 Upper Receiver
At Badlands, we exclusively use Colt upper receivers to start our builds. We’ve found that Colt uppers are consistently within spec, with the barrel extension-to-upper interface being perfectly square. This particular upper features a dry film lubricant and is marked with “M4” above the gas tube journal, along with the appropriate CAGE code.
If you’re serious about starting your build with a solid foundation, you can’t go wrong with Colt. While Colt stopped marking CAGE codes on their uppers in 2024, they’ve since resumed, so any upper purchased will include the CAGE code.
Please note, these uppers may have minor nicks or scuffs, which is typical of Colt’s manufacturing process. If you’re particularly particular about perfection and can’t tolerate any cosmetic imperfections, this upper may not be for you.
